NYC Spice Blend. The Only Seasoning You’ll Ever Need.
“Variety’s the very spice of life, that gives it all its flavor.” William Cowper
Variety is the spice of life. The old proverb is true.
So many people are set in their ways, when it comes to life and in cooking as well.
They go to work every day after day eating the same bowl of cereal and come home after eating the same
ham and cheese sandwich for lunch and sit down to a meal that was predetermined the week before, and
the week before that and the week before that. Life is much more than salt and pepper. Literally.
For instance, take salt for example.
I know of about 24 different salts. Kosher salt, sea salt, smoked salt, pink Himalayan, Fluer de sel, flavored salts and the list goes on.
They all look, feel and taste different.
Hold on to your seat because if you think there are only 3 seasonings in the pantry wait until you see the
amount of ingredients I have in this blend.
It’s simple psychology.
At least it is for me. I’m attracted to people who are creative, exciting, up for finding a change of scenery and not bland and dull.
I find it the same with the flavor profiles that I enjoy. I just wanted to use that Food Network term..flavor profile.
Think outside the bento box.
Spice up your foods. Be creative. Get funky. EXPERIMENT!
Inspired by all of the multi-ethnic flavors found in New York City..from the corner food carts to the back street bodegas to the hidden gems that only the locals know about, this blend will awaken your taste buds.
This seasoning blend has 12 ingredients.
I know it sounds like a lot but don’t worry, it’s easy to make and you can store it for a long time….but I guarantee that you will be using this stuff everyday on everything.
Sea salt, black pepper, cumin, garlic, sage and the list goes on. Are you with me?
This will be your go to seasoning for everything from scrambled eggs to grilled zucchini.
Roasted chicken to shrimp skewers.
Char-grilled porterhouse steak to even soups.
The combination of ingredients brings out all of the flavors in almost everything.
Salt brings balance and enhances flavor.
Sugar increases dopamine levels in our brains which makes us find it pleasurable. It also masks acids..not neutralize them.
And dried herbs..We’ll they are just awesome when portioned out properly.
After you try this you will be saying..
Adios Adobo….
Later Lawry’s Seasoning…
See ya later, Sazon…
Now get out there and season that bland world!
